Not long ago we packed up our family—my three beautiful girls, my adventurous husband and myself. Together we crossed the wide, expansive red land in the middle of our country and set up house for a year in remote Kimberley where we would work with the indigenous children. What I didn’t expect was to find a passion that would bring all the threads of my life, my past experiences and my strengths together. I began to dream. What would it look like to create a space where children can work through their challenges in a safe and structured way? What would it look like to see kids who struggle begin to step into their potential and flourish?
From that point on, I began integrating my nursing education and diverse experiences in the field, my years of running children’s programs in my local church community and my interest in the emotional wellbeing of children to architect a platform where children might engage in techniques, strategies and interventions that are tailor made to nurture their wellbeing.
I am committed to continue to broaden and build my skill base, qualifications and repertoire of techniques to build a practice that serves children and families well. I want your child to thrive. It’s so nice to meet you and welcome to Kallima.
